Default Mexican Rancher Vigilantes

Interesting story on the CBC about the local rural population in Mexico having enough of the drug cartel crime and forming 'self-defence groups'.

Who would have thought that more guns in the hands of law abiding citizens would lead to a more peaceful state where criminals are the ones who live in fear?

Interesting story ... Thanks!

I've read similar stories like that, about private citizens fighting the drug cartels in Mexico. Most of them didn't go as well.

I wonder if Mexico will ever be able to rid itself of the cartels and drug lords. Thank God we have it so good here in Canada.

"The ceremony included the registration of thousands of guns." Why do I feel this is just the beginning, not the end? Mexican drug cartels have direct connections to the Military, one of the reasons they remain so prevalent . They'll be back.

I found this show about the Mormons and the Mexican Drug War interesting also, puts a different perspective on some of it;
