Default fish mounts/taxidermist's

Just curious has anyone had a mount made from just a photo? I know it's a fairly common practice however are the results just as good. As well comparible price wise?

My dad had one done of a 50lb chinook he caught at Rivers Inlet in 2000. Check out the website http://www.ganderstaxidermy.com/ - their work is phenonenal ! Their fibreglass reproductions are incredibly realistic, and never fade or crack like skin mounts.

Default fish mounts

Hey Mooseknuckle first reply on forum. I had a 30inch wallleye replica done
by Clarence Kriaski at Wildlife Originals (www.wildlifeoriginals.ca ) in northeast Edmonton about 6 years ago. Awesome job never fade or deteriorate for about $600.00.

$600.00 for a 30 inch Walleye. $20 an inch. Sound about standard pricing I have seen anywhere on the net. I assume that's single sided wall mount. Did he include any habitats, driftwood or plaque.

I had a salmon done by advanced taxidermy in Ontario they blow anyone out of the water!!!

I think replicas are the only ethical way to go! You get the meat for one and with nothing but pictures and measurements needed you can replica C&R!!

X2 for Advanced in the East.

One trip through Bass Pro will attest, there are no other mounts out there that compare to the work they do.

I am getting my 22lb laker done through them, I will post pics when I get it in from them.

I had a pike replica done from Permatrophy in Minnesota. I am really pleased with the work they did, and that I went with a replica--it look slike you just pulled it out of the water, and I got to release the fish. I chose Permatrophy because of their turnaround time--about 2 months, and their price--$15.00 / inch plus extra for odds and ends like driftwood or habitat. Shipping was real easy with them too, and didnt cost me too bad, taking into account the size of the package. It would have been even cheaper without all the driftwood. The camera flash doesnt do it any justice, but picture gives you an idea what I had them do.
