That absolutely boggles my ming. I cannot believe the level of incompetence and total disregard of the customer that Savage has displayed. Even as a lefty this pretty much convinces me to seek any other gun maker as an alternative and unfortunately this same story is showing up from lots of recent Savage buyers.

Well, finally got the rifle to the range. Seems my chamber repair job is working fine. Did however run into another issue with the trigger First 4 rounds Bang, bang, bang bang, click, click ,click wtheck ?? Finally figured out that if I held my trigger finger at the very top of the trigger she would go bang almost every time. So after the range session I bring the rifle home and check out the little "accublade safety thingy" and wouldn't you know it, a small burr on the top of the blade was causing the bolt to engage the safety if you squeegeed the trigger to slowly. So after a little filing on the accutrigger safety latch thingy it seems to be working fine. I hope. Another PROBLEM fixed on this "flagship" Salvage rifle.

So guys I think after all this dicking around I might actually qualify as a "Master Gunsmith" in Savages eyes....

Trades I would interested in:
- Sightron rifle scopes, 4.5x14x42mm or 4x16x42mm
especially! with the HHR reticle. (no duplex pls.)
- older 6x fixed scopes with fine X or target dot.

Sounds like a pretty sad representation of quality. I have one savage (model 10 fcm scout in 308win, circa 2014) and it has been a fine rifle, 1100ish rounds through it (mostly max powder charge handloads), not one single issue, very accurate.

To answer your question, you might be an “ultra master gunsmith” in their eyes now, lol

Can't say as Savage ever really had a gun I wanted to buy, other than maybe the model 24, which I never did buy, just used a few times when I was a teenager. Thanks for reinforcing and justifying the spidey senses, there was always something that just didn't click for me with Savage.
