Nothing.
I compare wildcattted and customized rifles to hot rods.

A factory , stock car will take you downtown, to the city for a trip, and out Friday night .
A hotrod is fun to build and drive.
Both will do the same thing, but the rod is more fun .

Most of my rifles have some kind of aftermarket barrel on them , simply because I like wildcat cartridges.
I have also killed animals with rifle made before 1930 , chambered for cartridges that were designed before 1900.

I turned 50 this week and my wife asked me what I wanted for my birthday so I showed her a picture of a Bansner Ultimate One. I thought she was going to freak out when I told her the price but she said, "Okay"! I was speechless for a minute and I started to think to my myself, "Gee, what is she going to ask for, when she turns 50 in a few years"?

In any case, I still feel a little guilty spending over 5K for a rifle. I've seen used Bansners and other fine rifles sell for much less only a year or two old? They don't seem to hold value very well.

You are one lucky man JM59!!!

I've dealt with Mark before....first class. You've got one of my dream rifles there if you get it in 280AI

They will hold their value far better than a factory rifle.....just take care of it.

Man.....I don't know if I wanna be you when she turns 50

GOOD LUCK WITH THAT ONE!!!!

Default Custom Mountain Rifle

Not totally custom (semi custom I guess), but custom for me. I recently had Corlane's build me a 338-06AI on a new Sako m75 Greywolf (#4 action) with a new 24", #5 ss fluted PacNor match-grade barrel. Barrel, receiver, bolt handle, magazine and new style Sako Optilok rings are all powdercoated metallic Gunmetal grey to match the Leupold VX3 scope.
