Smile Beretta A400 Extreme - opinions?

I'm a left handed water fowl hunter and am looking for a new semi automatic shotgun. I think I have made up my mind on the Berreta A400 Extreme but am wondering if anyone has had any red flags or issues with it?

Thanks in advance

Outstanding shotgun. Everyone I know with one loves it. I shot my buddy's with 3 1/2" shells and the kickoff recoil system, coupled with the gas action, made it seem the same as my inertia gun. Buy it. You will be happy.

I ended up buying a SBE2, but only because I got it on a crazy sale.

My friend has to change the extractor retaining pins once in a while, they bend a bit apparently. He found some pins or pin material that works as a sub, they've never broken on him, just bent. That is the only issue he has ever had with it, and he's been shooting it for at least 9 yrs now. He tried a super Vinci for a bit, liked the A400 better, went back to it.

Default A 400

I bought an A40 the year they came out and it is awesome I would imagine the newer ones are even better. That said my friends in Argentina say they done stand up to the high volume dove shooting like the 391 did. But no one here shoots 1000 plus a day

An excellent shotgun, if I could get it to fit me as well as I like, I would be using one myself.

I really enjoy my A-400 Xtreme. It took me a few tries to get the stock set to the right length for me and it kind of felt slightly weird the 1st couple of times, feeling the slight movement in the stock as the kick off system did its job. I got used to it after a few rounds and will say it is the softest shooting 12ga I have ever used. I went back and tried my trusty old 870 one day and after a few rounds I said wow...this thing kicks, which had never bothered me, but in comparison to the Beretta it was night and day. Break it in with about 2 boxes of 3" or 3 1/2" shells and it will shoot anything from light trap to heavy 31/2" goose loads with no problems. Their not cheap, but worth every penny so far for me, so yes I recommend one for you guys thinking of getting one.

That is the system for the A-400 Explorer model. The A-400 Xtreme is slightly different with 1st a piston in the wrist, then a 2 piece stock with a rubber spacer between them and then the final recoil reducing pistons. This short video pretty much show how it all works and is worth the watch. There are also some other good U-Tube videos on it.
