Default Bombardier Gets $1,000,000,000 From Quebec

http://www.calgaryherald.com/busines...806/story.html

Equalization payments have bailed out Bombardier again, and they want an additional $1,000,000,000 from the federal government.

What does it take for the government to invest in my company?

Your title is a bit misleading.

Bombardier is actually getting 1 billion dollars from Albertan taxpayers.

I wonder if they held their pinky finger up to their lip when they asked for it?

The worst of it is that they actually feel entitled to it.

I think you mean we should have kicked them out years ago. With their restrictive laws on labour mobility I'd say we should implement some visa requirements too.

The real meaning of the word Quebec has got to be "screw you suckers". Cival wars have been started over much less than what those jerks get away with.

Flanked by some two dozen Quebec MPs, he told a cheering crowd of party members that the province was better represented in Ottawa than at any time in the last 25 years.

"This is the first time an entire generation of Quebecers and Canadians have seen so many Quebecers involved in running Canada," he said to loud applause.

Where is the vomit emogi when you need it? History repeating itself. Because after all, it's only proper and fitting for the Elite of Quebec to be so involved in the running of Canada, since they give such a damn about the rest of the county.

I will probably get slagged for saying this but I really think it is time that the western provinces had a serious discussion about splitting away from the east.

While the idea is entertaining, the realities of it are fantasy. There are far too many entitled youngsters in the west to be able to get them on board, which would be necessary to facilitate a split. It is more likely that Quebec would split off than the west splitting.

I disagree with the tone of this thread. Doesn't anyone realize the product Quebec is sell runs on solar power?

play Quebec's game. use the spoiled child playbook, whine and cry and threaten to run away from home if you don't get what you want. it has really worked well for them because many of our federal politicians are from Quebec and have had NO problem collecting taxes from oil industry workers, farmers, and all of the resource industries. we have been used like a rented mule, politically speaking.
