Default Skandic SWT

Hi Guys,

I didn't want to Hijack the BearCat thread. I am thinking about buying a new sled for next season. Just wondering what engine you picked and why. I have had good luck with 4 stroke bikes, but not sure what to expect in a sled in the long run. If I do get a new machine it will have to last for many years. I did use a SWT on a Bison hunt last year with the 600 ACE and it was amazing in the deep snow and very smooth and easy to ride. I would also consider the Polaris Wide Trak, but have heard of lots of issues with the new ones.

Thanks!

I've got a SWT in the four stroke ACE and it's amazing. The only advantage the 2 stroke would have that I can see would be the extra power in really deep snow. I guess power isn't the right word but more track speed. On some steep hills in the powder I find the ACE tends to lose momentum and doesn't have the snap to keep going. That being said as soon as it starts to spin I just back down the hill and climb up it again. After a run or two you have a good trail beaten down. The 2 stroke might make it up the first time but would likely tear your new trail to shreds. I do love how quite it is going through the trees and the moose seem to just stand and watch you
