Default washing pelts

once washed do they have to be completely dry before boarding?

They should be....if the underfur isn't dry, it will tend to mat. And obviously, the skin side needs to be dry to prevent tainting. And then, when you take it off the board, snap it gently, like you would a towel and the hair will charge and fluff right up.

And sometimes I found the hair to be damp, I used a vacuum set on blow and finished drying the hair after it was boarded hair out.

An apartment size washer spin dyer works excellent for doing coyotes. Drop them in with a shot of sunlight soap and then rinse them. Put them in the spin cycle. Ready for the board. Minor combing and they look like they have been drummed.
