No kidding Dick, mine look the same, starting to back off a bit of the feed and get them moving again. They are a little cranky about that. If I took them to the mountains today, I’d have to leave them in the back country I think. Use to work them year round when I had more cattle, now just to carry my ***** around to explore the hills.

Time to ride the flatlands until high country opens up. Hopefully it won't take long for spring to sproing..
Make a 40 or 50 lb. weight the horses can wear across their rumps or withers. Make them work a little. It might keep the horses a little more toned.
Or get a nice indoor exercise pool and dryer room.

Yup they wintered real good. Definitely will have to let the cinch strap out a notch or two.

better than seeing ribs. Mine are foraging with just enough supplement hay to keep them in condition.

When I was growing up our horses always foraged. Dad would give them an oat bundle morning and evening. No ribs in our herd either.

Geez, when I saw the "head down in the feeder all winter" sentence, I thought you were talking about me.
