A TV show for y'all...
Hey everyone,
My name is AJ King, and I work with a small production company. I've been looking for good online communities that might be interested in a pilot episode that we made on spec to see if there's any interest in the concept.
We'd love to hear your opinions!
If you have the time (~22mins), please enjoy The Fishin' Musician's Kitchen.
Cheers,
AJ

Thanks!
I enjoyed it and thought it was a pretty good show. I’d definitely watch another.

I enjoyed it too! The videography is top notch - the drone & underwater footage really add to it. The music choice is good too - be careful to watch the volume to keep it from drowning out the voice soundtrack (us old farts have difficulty separating the two). You might want to slow down your speech a little, separate and articulate your words a little better for us old guys & gals as well. I like how you (usually) make a good connection with your audience by removing your sunglasses to talk to the camera. Maybe not as 'cool', but it helps warm up your persona.
As a pilot, I realize that you wanted to fit as many things into the 22 minutes as possible, and I expect that the pace would be slightly slower and segments more thoroughly covered in a regular series, but I really like the concept - fishing/music/food prep and cooking. And a West-coast lifestyle that has the rest of the country envious! Good luck with it!

Wow! Thanks folks! Glad to hear that people are enjoying it! Also thankful for the constructive feedback.
The more eyes we get on it, the better chance we'll be able to make more. We've got some surprises built in, if we get to do a full season, and possibly include the actual recipes so that people can follow along at home. Finger's crossed!
If anyone has some suggestions for other heavily populated forums that might enjoy the show, I'd love to hear them.
Feel free to share it far and wide on social media, and wherever! The more feedback, the merrier
Cheers!
AJ

AJ you just may have the persona to
make this concept a success.

Thanks! To be clear though, I'm not the guy in the video.
(I'm part of the company behind it, and was on the production team.)
Collectively, Ragnarock Studios (the company behind this project) is a pretty fun bunch of easy-going guys, most of which are into martial arts/fitness, movies/tv (watching and making), and being outdoors. All of us love making content for people.
There's another project in the works related to outdoor survival skills that I expect will be in a similar episodic format, but will also have a cool addition of 360 degree tutorials, shot out in the sticks (VR so you can look around the environment where we're shooting). The lead in that show is a well-established traditionalist, so there is some really cool old-world knowledge surrounding survival and hunting skills to be explored. When it's ready to be shown, we'll be sure to throw it at you folks too!

Recipes would be on your web page which you reference in the video. Web page is your second chance at your audience.

I 100% agree. That's something that will get built out as the show develops.
Haha.. Thanks sewerrat! Glad it appeals to non-hardcore fishers too :P
I find the music draws me in every time. The guys did all the music for the show too!

Keep up the great work! It's very clear to see the passion you have.

Yes! Good call. I agree. Wine/drink pairings are expected to be part of future episodes.
(Heh... One of the recent shows that I worked on was a wine tourism show called 'The Wine Guys: Grape Escapes' that covered northern Italy and central Spain. I know just who to call! - I was just servicing that shoot though, it wasn't born from our company. Fun trip though!)

Entertaining - should be a good show I think. I enjoyed it.
The only constructive things I would say is what others have already mentioned - background music could be a touch lower and there lots to pack into 22 minutes - I'd like to see a little more of each part - kind of like getting a sample of a dozen great things but never a full satisfying bite of any one item.
If the format went to a one hour slot (45 minutes) it would be harder to get picked up, but I'm guessing far more appealing to the average viewer.
Overall 8.5 / 10 for me.

Wow! Thanks! That's great to hear guys!
@EZM - yes, the runtime could be longer... we definitely have the footage. We just didn't want to risk it feeling slow anywhere, so this is trimmed pretty tight. Ultimately, that is something that would be decided on with the lead and the production group delivering the financing. We're always down to do more if the viewers find it entertaining!

Hey folks! It's been a minute or two... but I come bearing gifts!
This is the latest project from our team... a series called Sacred Knowledge, with a first episode called 'Quest for Fire' coming in at ~15min, on Youtube.
In the video description on Youtube, you'll also find links for three fully immersive, 360-degree tutorial videos that allow you to click and drag your view to look around. Pretty cool technology, and if you have VR goggles, it's even more of an immersive experience.
As always, we're curious on your thoughts, opinions, suggestions! We're hoping to get traction under this project as well, to do further episodes and more immersive content.
Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe!
