Default My best one bait catch

http://cloud.tapatalk.com/s/58631895...27_110527.jpg?
Had our best one bait check today. When we arrived I sent my son to look over the edge of the bluff down at the river bottom while I got our supplies pack ready. He rushed back and said better get the ropes and sled ready I can see at least 4. I couldn't believe it but it got even better , as I looked down over the edge the scene reminded me of a TV show I had recently seen showing Eskimo sled dogs each tied in their own place. Every where I looked there was a coyote in a snare. At final count we ended with 10. On another thread this morning I posted that we never seemed to run out of bait at our sites , well that was a mistake! 2 deer carcasses that were whole on Saturday evening have been reduced to a couple skeletons this morning . Time to rebait on Thursday .

Now you're just showin' off.

Good job, you got some work to do now.

Thanx for the comments guys , no Ive never had anything like this before , a couple of days with 5 and that was special but 10 in one spot wont likely happen to me again . I need to thank my son KBF for being there to help with all the work of getting reset and the dogs out . We spooled out 250 of poly rope and attached it to our sled and then towed it back up the hill in 2 trips of 5 each . The hill is 78 yds from top to bottom at about 60 degree angle . We've always pulled our catch out on the sled by hand , 2 sometimes 3 at one time but not today . Heres our redneck stair master .. lol .

Thanx bud , 5 of these had the white tips on tails , gotta be related .And no I didnt get them in your spot ..lol. Don't know about it being a record Dave , but it sure was special to me . Im sure Marty or Ryan 9411 or someone like that has taken more .Brush in this place has kinda taken a beating , may have to relocate a short distance away . We've averaged a dog a day at this spot since we set there this year .

10 coyotes at one site all at once. I agree that has to be some sort of record. Were all the snares used or were some still empty? Well done. And they all look very prime.

Still some left open and I consider us very lucky that none of the catch was damaged by birds .All were in very good shape . Checked there yesterday and the coyote I posted a couple posts back was becoming lunch for an eagle , hoping a sewing job will net me a couple dollars . The way I figure it worked is a couple coyotes must have been working the bait and then some more showed up to help . All was well until maybe a late comer got caught and started to carry on and then everyone there decide to head for the hills literally and a whole pile got caught on the way out , at least thats what the snare location on coyotes said .Wish Id had my camera out , is in there now but will never be the same .Heard quite a number of dogs singing nearby yesterday while rebaiting so Im hoping with the storm and drop in temp this weekend that we can pick up a few more . Caught 23 in this spot last season and thats where we sit now . Getting the one little white one tanned .

Great job on all those coyotes.I would have loved to see the look on your face when you crested that hill. That is amazing getting all those -how many snares did you have set out! Im not a trapper but i love to call coyotes any time im not hunting or fishing.Keep up the great work helping out our deer numbers and best of luck in the rest of your trapping season.

Actually it was my son KBF that first saw the mayhem , I was at the truck getting things ready and he looked and hollers get the sled and we're gonna need the ropes today , I can see at least 4.He kinda had that little kid on Christmas morning but only better look ..lol . We have 24 set at this site , about a dozen are within 30yards and the rest strung out on trails leading in , farthest maybe 80. Caught another here 2 days later , eagle started on him but I think he can be patched up . Total for this site last year was 23 and thats where we sit now , started our sets here Dec 2.

Good job Cam. Lucky for us, the government says we can't ever impact the coyote population.

Way to go Cam, that's a thrill to discover a catch like that, it reminds me of Xmas morning as a small child. I made my personal best 4 years ago and I too wonder if it can be beat, but then again that's what keeps us striving to improve.
