Default First Archery Buck

Well after investing 3 years into Archery hunting I finally connected with my first Whitetail Buck.. Got to my hunting spot for about 6.30pm last night, to my surprise catching a small herd of elk in the hay field feeding... parked the truck, grabbed my bow and back pack and snuck into my stand unnoticed by the elk.. climbed up and settled in, getting everything in place.. Once settled started to range and glass the hay field looking over each bull. Lots of wildlife, some great bulls and a couple of real good whitetails, however they seem to have gotten wind something wasn't right in my direction as they both stayed on the bush side and didn't venture out to feed.. Extremely smart animals.. Whilst the elk were not responding very well to my calling, the perfect opportunity presented itself.. a whitetail doe passed my stand headed North.. 3 younger bucks that were feeding together, seen her and the stage was set exactly how I had envisioned it to go down in my head, hanging this stand where I did and why.. I glassed over the three bucks respectively and set my sites on the best of the three.. After witnessing the two bigger bucks shyness and smarts, I figured, I have never harvested a buck with my bow and the circumstances were absolutely perfect, I did hesitate as my goal for 2016 was to shoot 180+ Whitetail ( rifle or bow) but you know what, for my first buck with a bow, I made the decision to draw back and let an arrow fly, and put one down to go up from here with archery..
18 yard shot through the heart the buck didn't make more than 10 yards...
I allowed him to expire in clear sight, had a quiet reflecting moment to myself thanking the man upstairs for these beautiful creatures, this harvest, this beautiful country and the freedom to hunt deer.. Climbed out and went to work..

As positive as this whole evening and experience was I hunted solo and was unable to get a field photo of myself with my harvest.. A little disappointing, however the experience will relive itself live in my mind for ever.. I LOVE bow hunting and I love these beautiful creatures and this great country.. I'm going to town to buy a selfie stick to put in my pack from here on in..

Good luck everyone...

Congrats!
The fact you did it all yourself more than makes up for not having a perfect field photo.

Wow, great buck! I'm jealous, as I'm working on my first buck (or deer...)

Love the character in the antlers.

Congrats on your first bow buck. It's a beauty.
I had the same problem you had when I got my first. No one to take a field pic. Nice little deer hanger you have set up.

Neat looking buck, congrats! Great first buck with a rifle let alone a bow.
