It has everything that I had grown to know in one. Beautiful prairie that I knew from growing up on the grandparents farm, and the gorgeous mountains on the other side. I met my wife here and would never change a thing.

I consider Alberta my home province and there is nothing that can change that.
Coming from 2 provinces that were NDP run I can see why you would like this province now.

One of the best places on earth to live. Good roads going in every direction, all types of landscape including the Rocky Mountains, good water, great down to earth people. Alberta also provided me with 47 years of good and varied employment and healthcare when I needed it.

At one time a good place to buy cheapo gas at the pumps , as migrants from Saskatchewan jostled thier way to BC to collect welfare and beach comb and enjoy the mild winter,,

No so cheapo gas anymore , I expect migrants may have to find another route west

Friends!

I am a BC Boy, Through and through. Spent 4 years in Alberta, it is pretty but not home. The only thing I really miss about it is the people. As a general rule Albertans are some of the greatest people anywhere. Made friends in every town I had to work in. Still talk to a lot today. Can't say that about the rest of Canada.

The bedrock of this province is un shaken.

It's more than a particular political party, the price of oil , the oil sands.

What we so called used to be.
The Alberta advantage.
The money.
The economic powerhouse.

It's goes way beyond that, and in may ways.

When For McMurray was burning, it wasn't the politics or the oil companies.
it was ordinary everyday people helping out a stranger in a desperate time of need.

Many people driving up and providing, fuel, and water and food.

It was the outpouring of helping one another.

It was the feeling that could be felt around the province and even through the words on a screen.

It was an emotion that cannot be described in words.

You want to know what Alberta is?

Take those few days,
Where the politics didn't matter.
Where the price of oil didn't matter.
Where individual problems were pushed aside, and a community came together.

An overwhelming sense came through, from scores of different people. It was an emotional high,
And it was a determination that could be felt.
Even if you were not directly affected by the fire, you likely know someone who is or was.
And even though they perhaps lost everything in a materialistic way.
They didn't lose life, or there loved ones.

Not a political party, not an oil company, not a celebrity,
And most certainly not a wild fire, will ever take that away.

It's been proven time and time again.

Alberta Strong.

No truer words can be spoken.

That's what Alberta is too me.

I absolutely agree!
You have to be involved as either a giver , receiver, or both to really understand
Like I said before, when I think of Alberta I think of it as the next best thing to Heaven!
The people are unbeatable.
it is my home, plain and simple come fire or flood!

When you say "Alberta" I feel Pride.
When you say "Alberta" My mind pictures flat prairie, gouged by the coulees, running up to the foothills with the majestic Rockies forming a beautiful backdrop.
When you say "Alberta" I think Home.
