Looking to help someone get rid of varmints
Hey everyone, I am just wondering if there are any farmers/land owners out there that are looking for someone(me) to come and help take care of varmint such as coyotes, gophers, etc.
I am respectful and responsible.
Thanks for reading!

While you may luck-out, actually getting out of the computer chair and driving up to houses to ask for permission has worked well for me.
Concerning coyotes, you might be SOL... I've noticed quite a bit more chatter on here about people taking up hunting/trapping song-dogs. The pressure is on...
And as far as gophers go, you won't see them for another 4 months.

Mostly what JOHN_R1 says, but I'll add that it's not a bad idea to get a map of the area that you are interested in, with the landowners names. That way, you will be able to discuss access on all of the sections that person owns, even if they are spread all over the place. Please make sure that you discuss what can or can not be shot on that owner's property, since not all landowners are in agreement. We shoot on property where it is gophers only (not coyotes or anything else), on property where anything legal is fine, and a few in between. There are a perhaps surprising number of folks who do NOT want coyotes shot, and you need to be aware of it.
I will also caution you that the gophers come up based on the weather, not the calendar. In years like last year, we were seeing / shooting them in February, but in years with lasting cold it might be late March or early April before you see them. The adult males come up first, and we like to be out and shooting them as soon as they are up. It is not "high production" shooting, but getting them before they can mate is really the best way to make a significant dent in their population. They do not wait for the snow to go, so start watching for the movement on the white fields as the weather warms.

I don't need luck, I am both a "decent human being" AND someone who doesn't sugar-coat things or coddle people. But pardon me if the truth hurts your feelings... I drive the countryside looking for coyotes, and when I see them I go knock on the landowners door.

Yes...
"I am just wondering if there are any farmers/land owners out there that are looking for someone (me) to come and help take care of varmints..."
That's asking for permission to access private land... Period... I don't think it can get any more strait-forward than that...

Ha, the truth? the truth is, that you are assuming my intentions and my daily life. As if you are the only one that drives around. You say I should get off the computer but your forum status says you are the one stuck to the computer. Saying that you don't "sugar coat" or "baby sit" just goes to show your superiority complex. Please dude if you do not have a reply to the question then move on.
As for your land access comment... Clearly if I want land access it can obviously be more straight forward. "May I have permission to access land?"
Is that not more straight forward? I asked if someone needed help for a specific task. That is it.

I will go out and say it as the other guys are just bouncing around the subject instead of informing you. On this forum guys ask for permission/locations/favorite spots etc to hunt vatmints A LOT! And although you may find someone to give you a lead from time to time the general consensus is you are just going to have to spend some time doing some good old fashioned door knocking. Guys are coming off as rude or trolls are just a bit tired of seeing the same question asked over and over year after year. Hope that helps and good luck!
