Thanks Turney

Hey Turney,

My understanding is they CAN trap on them. Sounds ridiculous but this agreement gives them rights on ALL crown lands. Jim may know better than me but I'm pretty sure I'm correct.

Default metis trapping

Yes they can trap anywhere on crown land. So can natives. Any trapping they do however is only for their own use. They cannot set traps on your trapline and then sell the furs they take. The furs caught can be used to make clothing, ceremonial items etc. Sounds pretty benign , but I don't know how you would ever enforce or even investigate it.

I always wanted some more partners!
Hope they can build a nice cabin so I can use it.
Got to look on the good side right.
