after serving my country for 36 plus years I do not believe that Remembrance Day should be a holiday , I think that schools should pick a local ceremony and make it mandatory for all to attend , All business should be made to observe a 30 min pause on the Day from 1045 to 1115 and if they cannot attend a ceremony than organsize something in the workplace, all but essential services should be mandated to stop for the the same period , this needs to apply to all citizens and those who wish to be so that they realize the sacrifices that have and continue to be made to ensure that we can live in a free society .

anyways, my thoughts , We Will Remember Them

Thumbs up

At the risk of hijacking my own thread . . .

This just in; Canada's War Memorial in Kandahar (Afghanistan), is coming home -

Canadian Press news article; http://www.globalnews.ca/soldiers+ta...704/story.html

My worst fear was that it was going to be left behind. Thank God ... they're bringing it home!
