Default Parker Hale 30-06

I have a Parker Hale 30-06 that has been passed down Tommie, looks to be in great shape, I'm looking to put a scope on it and asked at a local shop and they didn't know if they would have what I need. Anyone else have an idea what I need. I believe it's a 1200 Parker hale

The local shop is lacking in basic knowledge and customer service , PH rifles are very common and there are a plethora of mounts and rings available ,

Maybe find a competent gunsmith to mount the rings and bases,,,

You will be way ahead,,,guaranteed !

Weaver 45 and 46 bases, or use a 402 for the front(extension base) with the 45 in the rear.

Or

I have a PH that I bought new in 1970. I put a 4X bushnell on it with a crosshair and post reticle. It's still there and I've shot tons of animals and taken the rifle on thousands of miles hunting.

It believe so, I've done a bit of research but it's hard for me to say, it's got an engraving of a ram on it. No brass trigger, has the original sights, roll over cheek

You're gonna be pleasantly surprised at the accuracy of that rifle.

I inherited the same rifle (I think) with a cheap 4X mounted but sure love the look and history behind this PH beauty. I am also looking for info on scope mounting. I am budgeting in the area of a Nikon Prostaff 3x9x40mm. I have too many other hobbies that also consume cash. I did land a mule doe draw in 156 and cow tag for Suffield in Nov. Need to put in some serious trigger time before that.

That was my first rifle many years ago, still keep it and enjoy it.
I put Bushnell 3x9 and it did very good for me for last 16 years.
I have many rifles but this one usually goes for hunting the early season with me , like 22 tube on it.
Load decent 165 gr bullet and you should be fine for Suffield elk up to 400 yds+ ish shoots.
Be ready to shoot running target
Good luck!
