Default Workshop for Shooting and Rifle Basics

At the request of a few members I will be willing to hold an informal series of sessions for those wishing to improve their abilites with their rifles in the new year. I have to wait for my new shift schedule to come out, but can tell you that they will be held on at least 2 Sunday's in January, February, and March, in Drayton Valley. It will start at my house at 10:00AM and then we will go to the range to put theory into action.
PM me if your interested.

I would love to get out there for one of those Sundays Dick. We'll have to see a little closer to the time but I am interested for sure.

There might be some mis understandings as to what will be involved in this workshop.
There is no way I can convey the necessary information, and conduct hands on advice in just one day. My rough copy of lesson plans indicates it will require the commitment of 4 Sundays, likely 2 to 3 weeks apart, and also require the participants to put in some practice on their own on the weekends not in Drayton Valley.
There are sacrifices one must be willing to endure to become a better shooter, if for what ever reason you can not put forth the necessary time, please re consider, and let me know.

Now here's a guy so confident in his ability to take home the Rifle Rodeo buckles that he's offering to train the competition... :P

J/K... good on ya. Perhaps we should do something like that up here as well.

I'd be interested, but I am a shift worker, so I need some concrete dates before I can commit to anything.

Now THIS is what I have always wanted and needed. Courses on guns, how to shoot, and how to HUNT.

I was very disappointed when I took my gun and hunting courses... just learned all the laws and rules, not how to actually DO anything (I was a neophyte gun owner and hunter who knew no one experienced to help me). What I've learned has been trial and error or learned on boards like this. I'd love to take a few courses from someone knowledgable.

Unfortunately, Drayton is a little far from Calgary. Damn.

Dick has been nice enough to offer to come down south and present a shooting seminar (condensed) down south in Lethbridge. I need to make a few contacts with the Lethbridge range and we'll need to make sure we have a few Lethbridge members on board who are Range Officers and make sure we have day passes for anyone interested in coming. Day passes are $15 I beleive and we can make sure we have them sorted out before the event.

As far as range events go, nothing has been scheduled for these dates but I will make sure that the range remains available. For anyone not familiar with the Lethbridge range, it is a very nice facility with a ton of room and great benches, etc.

The dates for the Southern Seminar will be April 19/20th. I will be glad to host any room that is needed for classroom stuff at my place outside of Lethbridge. Please contact me if you're interested in being a part of the Southern dates in April.

Thanks again Dick284!!
