I'm sure you all remember the pain of waiting, especially with my rifle paid and sitting at P&D. So.....yeah I'm bored.

Hah...that sucks dude.....

I cant remember the pain of waiting as when I got my PAL I was too young and poor to afford any guns....lol

But I know the pain of waiting....my gun is at the gunsmith getting a pile of work done and I cant WAIT to get it back!!

Heh yep...I feel your pain.....mine is the 7-08 being reamed out to 7mm-08 Ackley....

Having WAY too much work done...might as well have bought a second gun for the costs, but a man's life is too short to hunt with an ugly gun....

Unless this is your first PAL, this should never occur.
If it is your first PAL dont get in too much of a hurray, they apparently are contacting all your refrences now a days for first time applicants, and remember there is a 28 day manditory window before they will even touch your application.(all this for first timers)

I've had my RPAL about 2 1/2 years now, but when I got mine, they apparently didn't talk to any of my references. I kept asking them if they'd been contacted & interviewed about me yet, so thought my RPAL was taking its sweet time being processed. Next thing I know, RPAL shows up..... Perhaps my honest face in my submitted photo was enough?

Frankly, I wish they were a bit tighter with scrutinizing the applications. I recall being at a gun counter where a guy dressed entirely in the "uniform" of a hip-hop street thug (complete with goofy swaggering walk, gawdy gold chains and "Pimpin ain't easy" attitude) asked to see a pistol grip Mossberg 12 guage. The counterman thought he'd head the weenie off at the pass by asking to see a PAL before allowing him to handle the firearm; but it didn't pan out , as the aforementioned weenie was able to produce one .
Now I know I shouldn't judge a book by it's cover, but if this dweeb didn't have a criminal history or wasn't presently active as a freelance entrepreneur in the delivery of unlicenced pharmaceuticals I'd eat my shorts.

If you look back about 4 or 5 months when the Lieberals were calling for tighter gun control (what's new) the CPC promised to up the scrutiny of new applicants. This is likely what is going on.
I forget what incident brought this scrutiny forward, but it was news worthy.

My wife has a 7-08 that shoots like as dream. The deadliest little deer gun goin in my books!I shoot a 300 win mag for every game animal I hunt and I've found myself with her gun in my hands on a few occasions in the woods and feeling completely comfortable with it. when I started testin load s for this gun I found that it had a lot more to offer than most would think,I fell in love!Beatiful shooting gun.Congrats on your purchase.
