i usta usem in the old days ('80's) before accuracy was important and 'total shots fired' mattered,
I beleive they are in the 4000fps range and have a plastic sabot
i kinda went away from them when i bought a 6mm rem. personally, id leave them on the store shelf, or construct the ultimate 22-250 fur stacker.
ive heard many guys have had inconsistant results, then others said no probs

I also tried them in the 80s before I bought a real varmint rifle, and like roger says, the accuracy sucked.

Still have most of a box of 'em. Fired a few. Think I'll just salvage that good Rem. Brass and say goodbye to garbage.

I remember a few guys tried them out back in the 80's. They were pretty excited at first until they tried them out. Accuracy was pretty bad.

I've tried them terrible couldn't hit anything. Drop down to 125 grain and you will get better results.

One rumor I heard, don't know if it's true, was that they were discontinued because rifles obviously didn't leave marks on them and it was impossible to trace a fired bullet back to the weapon, that fired it.

As of last year Russell's has them in stock. As for sabots being shady because of rifling marks, don't most muzzle loaders shoot sabot bullets through a rifled barrel? Same go for some shotgun slugs?
