I saw the word BUY and I inexplicably felt my wife’s hand grip my wallet(testicles).

I will have to make do with what I have.

If I had the money, I’d be shooting gophers with an A-10 Warthog.

My wife and I use our stock ruger 10/22s for ranges up to 75 meters and our .223 Savage predator M10 rifles for anything further away.

Default My Favourites

These are my go-to goffer, crow, squirrel or just plain plinking machines, CZ 455 Lux in .22 WMR, Marlin 39A .22lr with Marlin scope and for real fast shooting Rem 597 .22lr.
Tried to upload files but keeps telling me failed, will have to investigate & try again later, sorry about that.

You made it very clear that you know nothing about parallax in your posts about center fire scopes on a rimfire. You can continue to throw money at whatever you want. But your knowledge about how a scope works is clear. Good luck with your cz and your centerfire scope because your gun is clearly wayyyyy above your skill set

Well, I've had 6 Savage rimfires (3 HMRs, 1 22WMR and 2 x .22s), 2 CZs and a a BRNO. Remaining? 1 x CZ, 1 x BRNO, 1 x Savage Rascal 22 to teach young shooters with. It's actually a very decent little gun for what it is.

In my personal experience...and I'm no authority..it takes an exceptional Savage to shoot up to CZ standards. (CZ452) However, both CZ 452s I've owned and the BRNO shoot exceptionally well. The Savages shot OK (the HMRs better than the others) but with Savage's QC not keeping pace with the climbing prices...it's just a brand I don't turn to anymore. I do like the look of the new Savage B22s, and have read Savage has made some improvements, so I do look forward to trying one of those when the opportunity presents itself.

What ever floats your boat.....I kill thousands of gophers every year.....with them cheap center fire scopes....so please go away, this is way above your pay grade.

Here's my rig, still a work in progress. I'm waiting for the M-lok sling swivel adapter to mount my bipod, hopefully it gets here by the end of the week.

I hope this thread starts getting updated with photos once the fur starts to fly! The inevitable "2018 Gopher" count thread should have a requirement to include photos. I know (first hand) how unremarkable they can be...but boy, they sure add some color to the reports. I promise to do my part...WestJet has my $ now.

Nice! I spoke to a buddy here yesterday who said he'd seen a few groundhogs up already too. I'd say "save me a few gophers" but no need. I suspect we'll have our hands full this coming spring. I sure hope so.

That does look like fun. I'm going for one of those NR Scorpions though, CMR too pricey for plinking.

Hey Xbolt, if you want to get out and do some shooting I'd love to take you up on that. I don't have a lot of experience with Savage rifles, but I do love my CZ's.
Mostly I think it would be great to meet some new people to get out and do some shooting with.

Default Our Gopher getters

Love getting out in the gopher patch with my son's!!

[IMG][/IMG]

From left to right:
Son#1's Savage A17 with a Nikon Rimfire on it, he loves it, just bought him a 25 round mag, I shudder at the ammo bill.

My Savage 17 HMR, heavy barrel in a Boyd's thumbhole stock, topped with a Nikon Prostaff 5 5-15 power, love this combo!!

Son#2's Remington 597 semi auto 22LR in a Boyds barracuda stock. Shoots great with CCI Mini-Mags.

Is it spring yet......

Hooo Doggy! Nuttin' but class in the gopher patch!
I'd lay odds that they are every bit as accurate as they look!
