Default Got to admire some people

They've got a handle on life , as well as death. Hardly an obituary in the usual sense, from a local paper. Won't use the ladies name.

A couple of years ago, I was diagnosed with malignant Melenoma. Since I am 88 years old and going blind, I declined treatment. However, last Spring i felt that cancer creeping up my leg. I decided to make plans. I booked my funeral, place, date and time, followed by a catered meal at the local community hall. To finish the day, I will do a review of my 88 years. this event will take place, whether I'm living or dead.

Not me. Grizz

Good for her. Sounds like it will be a sad, yet joyus occasion. I really hope she can attend. She sounds like someone who would not want to be bedridden in a hospital hooked up to tubes and wires.

Thumbs up

What paper, Griz?

I'd like to get a hard copy of that.

Thanks,

Selkirk

Gotta love that. Attend your own funeral AND get to be guest speaker.

Nice.

I always felt of doing a video eulogy for myself. Update it every 5 yrs or so as I keep adding the years. Then the kids can play it at my celebration camp out the next year and not have to do the "speech" on my behalf.

It was in The Western Star, published in the booming metropolis of Leslieville, AB. Hers certainly stood out among the rest of the obits.

The Star is a great community paper published by the Gibson family.
