Default Good retreat ideas?

Hey guys, I'm trying to plan a family get together. My parents 55 anniversary so something fairly private would be nice. Hoping to find a place that we'd pretty well have to ourselves and be able to either camp or stay in cabins. Some are coming from quite a distance so hauling a trailer is not an option. Any ideas? On a lake or river would be nice so the fisher persons could wet a line if they like.

Thanks

Lots of summer camps rent out the whole camp for reunions in the spring/fall (when there is no summer camp). They generally have cabins for sleeping and allow camping.

Only one that comes to mind near Bowden is Camp Harmattan, but there are many all over Alberta.

Have stayed there a couple of times...great place, lots of great scenery and prices for the cabins are no more than a Super 8.

You could check out Diamond Buffalo Ranch west of Sundre, looks nice and private on a small lake.

Another option is to rent a group camping area from Alberta Parks.
Some spots are all by themselves.
We rented the prarie creek one before and its was great.
Shelters are there, grass is mowed, firewood ( but looks like they just cancelled that)
Cant remember the price but remember it wasnt much.
