Default Alberta Turkey Hunt Tips/Advice

Hi all, my father in-law and brother in-law were both drawn for turkey this year in Alberta. Being new to the whole turkey hunting world they have asked if I could reach out on here and look for any related advice other than the basics. They aren’t looking for anyone’s hotspots or anything like that, just some general guidance to help to potentially increase their success rate!

They are heading down for a couple days of scouting prior to the season opener. They have also spoken to a F&W officer in the area who has provided some useful information as well.

If you have a minute or two to provide some information I know they would appreciate it!

Thanks,
MS

Default new turkey hunter

I hunted them for the first time last week in central Texas. Guided by my friend who has been hunting them for 60 years. He taught me a lot. Hopefully I learned most of what he taught. Happy to share as a novice. Incredibly exciting hunting.
I got 2 gobblers. Missed another shot and missed another opportunity to get a shot.
