Default Savage 99 Info

I just purchased a Savage 99c in .308..Does any one have any info on these guns other than what can be found on Wikipeda? Also were I can find out info about the gun its self i.e. when it was made. I imagine it is a newer one as it has the detachable magazine but I have been wrong before and this is just a guess of mine. Also I only paid 325 for it with a scope and two boxes of ammo. Was this a good price? I always wanted one of these cant wait to use in the bush during this years deer season

I sold my last 99c for $675 with one box of ammo and no scope, I never once had the slightest problem with mine, it was accurate and reliable. It was from the early fifties but you wouldn't know it without running the serial number!
