Return it to Costco. I had the exact same safe and trouble a few weeks back.

I have a couple of them and had the same problem with both. When the batteries ran out I put in new ones and the pads wouldn't work. Replaced the 4 new batteries with 3 new ones and one old and it worked again. Ran it like that for a few months and then replaced the used one with a new and it kept working. Both are still running lkie that and haven't had to replace the batteries yet.

Did you by chance by Kirkland batteries? Darn things have a shorter positive terminal and can’t always make perfect contact. Expand the spring a bit and should be fine.

Default Safe

I had a 9 year old Costco gun safe.
Key pad went.
I phoned Costco and they said return it for a full refund which I did.
