I know it's just a coincidence that the leaders of Canada both had the same last name during the two biggest Alberta recessions in recent history. It is kind of a big coincidence though. 
I'm kind of curious and anxious at the same time to see what lessons Alberta learns this time around. From coincidence. Of course.

Already made the move. Despite the rosy sounding article its still hard to find a decent paying middle class job in BC. But as far as freedom of outdoor pursuits of virtually all kinds, this is the place to be.

I know several people in the Fraser Valley who work in the trades there. The cost of living is forcing them to work a lot harder to maintain the same standard of living we have in Southern AB. It is getting better because of the housing boom, but when that stops, the work will stop.

Maybe Alberta can become a have not province and we get a few dollars from BC and ONT since their provincial economies are doing so well. It can help Alberta fund a few infrastructure projects to get people back to work.

Let's be honest, affording the same standard of living we enjoy in AB when you're a simple working joe is not the reality in the rest of the country!
The idea of a guy working in the local mill / factory being able to afford a super duty and all the toys has been dead in the rest of the country for almost a generation now.

I always dreamed of moving to BC but the lack of work was always an issue. OK if you were single but back in the day when both kids were little I just couldn't do it. Now I'm a little long in the tooth to pull up stakes and move to a place where family doctors are a very rare thing.
When you live in paradise why would you leave. Both provinces are an outdoors mans dream
but I will ride out this government eating Alberta beef and buying beer thats on sale.
I still believe there is an Alberta advantage.
