That's the verdict, now we'll see how the reaction is.

I watched or listened to most of the trial and I couldnt see any evidence that would convict him. I wouldnt have bet on the jury not giving him manslaughter though.

I certainly don't think the state met the burden, but you never know.

A good shot on the end of the beak is your best first shot, shock and tears for sure. Scared to death, me thinks not, after you take one on the nose you don't have too much time to think. I was 60 when I got into what I hope was my last fight. He was a young guy about 20 or so, out weighed me by 40 lbs.
I left him laying in a parking lot holding his nose with one hand and his jewels with the other. Two shots and one kick did the job. And by the way BDB his first words were do ya wanna.

Seemed earlier that it might go to manslaughter... but for whatever reason the jury didn't seem to believe that fit the bill.

Probably the only good to come out of this whole mess... is folks might have a better appreciation of how easy it is to go from saint to sinner with that stand your ground law.

I think Zimmerman is lucky... very lucky and that he just squeeked by.

Oh well... justice is served and seen to be served by the people and that is important.... especially when a homicide occurs.

There was nothing common sense about any of this except the trial itself.
Now... doubt will be removed and both sides can have closure.

I was basing that comment on the trial and the evidence provided. I couldn't see how he could be convicted except if it was a compromise verdict swayed by emotion.

Many different sceneries could have taken place, he could have been guilty. I think it was common sense that he was acquitted.

To be fair... we weren't in that court room...looking at all the evidence or listening to the testimony.
It would seem that he was saved by reasonable doubt and a system that favours the accused.
Had the burden been otherwise or had the prosecution been able to produce a little more.... I think he would have been convisted of manslaughter.
Who knows?
It could have been a matter of the jury prefering one witness over another... and nothiong more than that.

Anyway... old news and the important thing is that now justice has been served. I'm glad there was a trail.
I don't think the death of one person at the hands of another should be accepted so easily that no enquiry beyond a terse police investigation is made.
