Default eye dominance problem need tips

I shoot a left hand bow (tried right handed and was a awful experience )and my dominate eye is my left eye. i should be shooting a right handed bow iv been told but it just don't feel right maybe i'm to set in my ways i'm not sure. What i am sure about is that its affecting my ability to hit my target. Does any one have any TIPS to combat this problem.
How i shoot. i shoot with both my eyes open and try to judge that at 25 yrds i need to move my hand holding the bow over about 2 inch to hit in the rough area i want not the best way i know and its hard to judge how for to compensate moving my hand holding the bow for different ranges and i'm not even going to get into the aiming up and down part. i can for most part be on target at 25 yrds but any were from one foot above or below the center not good to go hunting and thats what i would like to do.

So please any help would be great
oh can i train my other eye to be the dominate eye ?? if so how long does that take weeks months dear god don't say years.

Your post is somewhat confusing to me,

You are left ey dominant and shooting a lefthanded bow... should be no issue...

if you are holding bow with left hand then you are shooting a right hand bow.

Squint or close your right eye.

tried closing left eye didn't do any thing made it worse really i just stuck my arrow though my shed and squinting made every thing blurry and couldn't see my 25 yrd target with my bifocals ( yes i have bifocals at my age ) but i did try both idea's in a vain hope.

If you are left eye dominant and hold the bow with your right hand, I would assume that you are pulling the string with your left hand. This is shooting left handed. Next question, may seem dumb but is your bow right or left handed? When you hold it up which side is the arrow rest on?

No idea about bows, but I'm the same with a rifle. After a bit of practice I was able to shoot with both eyes open. I find it actually helps a lot with a moving target. Maybe someone can chime in wether or not that works with a bow

Nekred cleared up my problem for me, seems i have a funny ""friend "" that was giving me bad advice. as i hold my bow with my right hand seems i'm perfectly ok being left eye dominate. i am sorry for waisteing any one's time.

If you hold the bow with your right hand and pull it back with your left you are using your correct and dominant eye....the left, as you are shooting left handed.

Glad to hear you figured out the problem and that it was just some misguided advice

If you are still having trouble put an eyepatch over the eye that you are not supposed to be aiming with. I know that this works because my little brothers were left eye dominant with a right hand bow and they were told to use eyepatches and now they can aim with the right eye just fine. The bows that they are and were using are compound bows but it should work the exact same with any other bow.
