In general when I'm barreling a rifle, I remove the ejector pin (if it has one) and the firing pin assembly. I aim for the weight of the bolt handle alone to close the bolt on the go, and not even start on the nogo.
That said, I've seen more than a few factory rifles close on the nogo with very slight pressure.
When I read about guys "checking headspace" and talk about forcing them closed on a gauge I just shake my head.
