Interesting that all the replies are big game rifles/calibers. I don't hunt big game, nor do I have any real attachment to any particular rifle. (maybe that's not a coincidence?) I've always loved my rimfire guns, especially a 27 year old Anschutz 1450, my first gun purchase when I got my FAC. However, the only guns I feel a real attachment for are a few shotguns in my collection. All were left to me by people near and dear in my life who passed away. One 41 years ago, one 2 years ago, one 9 days ago. Bittersweet way to see guns added to your collection, but on the other hand...an honor to think they wanted me to have them. All field guns, not collectors...so I make sure I shoot them whenever I can. Brings back good memories.

It was taken for granted that it was favourite big game rifle I guess!

My match rifles( rimfirecabd centrtfire) were always considered tools of the sport by my family , and u have no real attachment to them for the most part
I have my father's trap gun and will keep it but sell my other shotguns
My favourite hunting shotgun is my Westly Richards SxS but it would go before the 16 gauge O/U that was s birthday present from my wife

Good point. I never even thought about my shotguns or rimfires.

Fave shotgun would be my beretta 686 20g 26" barrels. Nothing fancy, but it just feels right and is a great little grouse gun.

My fave rimfire is my bl22...for now. These seem to change.

On reflection, he did ask for "all time favorite rifle" so I guess our mentioning our shotguns is a moot point!

My favorite is my Grandfathers Model 1917 that I've talked about a few times on here. It's nothing special, but like Blake Shelton said, it's Granddaddy's gun. It's the sentimental value behind it.

Next would be something really weird but it's the rifle I bought for my wife. It's a Remigton 700 VTR in 308. Again, it's nothing special but it's something that gets her out and sharing in the stuff that me and my son like to do.

For me it was my 1970's 444S with a Williams FP sight. Plain working rifle with the focus on working well. My hunting days are over so I gifted it a young man the rifle deserved.

I have had and still have quite a few firearms, but one favourite is a Rem 700ADL in 25/06, took deer and two Goats with it, and then there is the 243 I got when my brother died in 95, he and I bought the unfinished rifles from North Shore firearms and did all the finishing except the bluing on them and so when he died I was asked if I wanted it, of course I took it, have not used it yet, but may still.
Also have an old Model 12 that was his too.
