Default Just bought my first bow

So i bought a bow from another member on here, quite happy with it,
Bowtech Assassin, 60# 29"DL

I got Wolverine in Red Deer to set me up with some arrows, and release but now I need to know what the best target to get, as they only have a 20yrd range and paying every time I want to shoot, not gonna be cheap. However it's good when its raining.

Any help would be great!

Fowl Life.

I just bought one of those cheaper square ones. Made a backdrop at the back of my garage and shoot from my driveway. Have a 50 yard driveway but shoot from 30, where my house blocks the side view.

Think maybe build one with some 2" foam layers.

Thanks for your help.

Just have to be careful that the neighbors are ok with it. I do believe that it is ilegal to shoot within city limits. Back drop, safety, whatever, some folks will bietch.

Try these out. They are cheap but they take one helluva kicken and hold up quite well. I have two and one has stayed outdoors for 3 years and still takes arrows like a champ.

18-1 is by far one of your best investments for a target.

I agree with all the 18 - 1 statements; mine's going on 5 years old in my basement and has had literally thousands of field points and a couple hundred broadheads plastered into it and will most likely see several thousand more... Easy extraction from the foam and doesn't move on the concrete because of it's wieght.

When taken out camping, I usually will toss it out in front of me and then shoot wherever it stops (works on my ranging judgement)

As far as shooting within city limits (at least in Calgary) I've heard that it's 100% legal (just not neighbourly friendly) to shoot on your own property as long as your line of arrow flight will not allow the arrow to fly into public space (think shooting from your street at the target set up inside your attached garage) BUT PLEASE confirm with local authorities on this (I've never tried it - just bought a membership to the local archery club)

J.
