Default New Rifle

Hey y'all,

I have just recently purchased a Remington 700 AAC-SD and mounted my badger ordance picatinny rail, rings and Leopold glass. I have also bought a new McMillan stock to replace the soft factory Houge stock.

There are only so many more hours i can spend cleaning it in front of the fireplace. I really need to get out and shoot it.

Regards,

T

I have the same gun, went shooting it yesterday...1.5" groups at 200 yds with cheap MFS 145gr. fmj's. Damn fine rifle for the price.

Supposed to be 'warm' this weekend. Just convince the girl it's a date.

SKSniper: Do you have the factory houge stock on it? I have heard major complaints about it being to soft and the stock touching the barrel taking away the free-floating barrel and messing with harmonics?

El-Brento: It is .308. I believe the 700 AAC-SD with the 20" barrel only comes in .308 but I may be mistaken

Thanks guys,

T

Smile Beer bottle?

Where did you get that "stubby" I haven't seen one in years? BTW if you plan on reloading be careful with that stuff.

Yes, I have the original Hogue stock on it still. The barrel does sit a little off center at the fore end but I have not noticed any problems arising from this. Mind you I am by no means a "match" shooter. The gun punches tight enough groups for me. The way I look at it is I can shoot 1.5"- 2" groups consistently at 200 yds with cheap ammo, whitetails have about a 12" kill zone...good enough for me . I saw lots of complaints about the stock as well, but I am satisfied with it to say the least. If all you plan to do with this gun is to target shoot and hunt it is good enough.
