Default 17 WSM at the range today

Crazy cold this morning but no wind, shooting Savage 17 WSM , Winchester 20gr ammo, this was at 100 yards, its a rim fire going at 3000 fps, shooting just off bean bags. No sled, like many have said the bolt is bad, using a 4-16 44ml scorpion varmint scope. I am ten X more shotgun than rifle....but I was very impressed , this is three shots...

next I walked out a frozen orange to 100 yards and shot it, went and picked it up and I could see the RED polymer stuck in the orange where the bullet expanded, what I can say, I love the accu trigger and going to adjust it down a bit.

I have the same set up, same scope, but was running the 25gr(?) Winchesters, and couldn't get a decent group (2"-3") at 75 yards. So I'll have to try the 20gr's. Thanks for the post

I can't get the 25 grains to group at all. Seems to really like the 20s though.

Good shooting and nice pics!

How do you fellas like the Bmag? I haven't handled one myself yet but I'm really considering buy one. Or should I wait for another manufacturer to build one? I am a savage fan but the reviews and videos I've seen I don't think I would like this particular rifle.

Looks like the one at the top of the pages shoots very well. I haven't heard of anyone else making a bolt gun for this round. FS

Nope me neither. Just the savage and the Winchester 1885 single shot.

Just checked the volquartzen website. They have them!!! They are however a touch pricier than the Bmag. Lol

Browning is supposed to be putting one in their TBolt. That would be a sweet little rifle. I'm sure Ruger will have one out soon as well.

I ordered a new Boyd stock for my Bmag, just cleared canadian customs. Soon as i have it i will post pictures. I think a new stock will help. I find the fore stock flimsy on the factory stock. Mine shoots well, other than the mag sometimes not feeding. Its been really cold lately though, maybe that contributes.

Yes $1800-$2200 is kinda ridiculous for a rimfire!
