Wall Tent Treatment

Was curious what’s everyone using now to treat their wall tents? Been awhile and mines due, looking for input.

I used the waterproof, mold killing fire retardant stuff in the one gallon cans. Used a paint sprayer to apply, gave it two good coats. Got it from Norseman in Edmonton but you can probably get it lots of places.

Probably works but as far as I know does not contain anti fungal or fire retardant. The stuff specifically designed for canvas has both while it waterproofs and costs about the same. Why not use the right stuff when if also does a better job?

Don't use paraffin like my old buddy. Drives up to the Yukon to guide for the fall and decides to reproof his assigned tent whilst waiting for everyone to come back in camp.

Turning in he knocks over his white gas lantern, runs down to the creek and back with water bucket (saved his life) rifle going off, fire torched everything except him.

Quite the sight to see his synthetic stock and synthetic 10x50 Swarovskis, rifle, scope wallet etc charred ($400 cash) and masses of molten plastic and glass.

Only my old buddy-gone now and miss him with his wild adventures.

Aqua-Tite is what I use.
