I do all the time

no issues yet

did call in a Wolf by howling and have had them serenade me too

I have had porcupine come sniffing around n maybe a bear too

love too get dropped off and pick up a few days later

do solo fishing trips into back country spots (2 this year for a couple days)

do have bear spray in tent n a axe or machete

love the mental health healing side of camping alone

some times its canceled partners that make it solo

if you can't be by yourself then you have problems ;;

Yup what Dave just said. It's a good test on your mental strength. If there are things in life that are weighing on your mind you will really notice it out there. I personally enjoy solitude and independence and the sense of mortality that comes with tenting alone. Not for everyone tho.

That's like sleeping with an ADT alarm system in place, lol. Such a peaceful sleep until a minor rodeo happens, and 99.9 % of the time it's just a little power surge in their system.

Ive done it many times over the years past, usually without a firearm by my side - and often without a tent (just a tarp or bivi sac) However, I was involved in a night time close encounter with a black bear about 15 years ago that resulted in bear to human contact. My buddy survived the event. Since then, I cannot sleep well in a tent, and sleep much better with my slug loaded (ready to go) shotgun and Surefire mounted light (must be a billion lumens bright). I have also taken to wearing earplugs so that every nighttime noise does not cause my ancestral cromagnon reflex’s to wake me up and grab the shotgun. Not surprisingly, I sleep MUCH worse when one of my children is with me in the tent....

We had a new 1 day old Montana tent tore up pretty good from a black bear one time. When I bought my new tent last year I wasn’t taking any chances so I put up a 3 wire electric fence around it. Sleep pretty good with the hot wire around the tent and the defender 12 ga by my cot.

With today's tents a solo camper in predator country should be sleeping sound.
A suspended tent 10 feet off the ground and the only thing that might bother you at night would be the flying squirrels.

I'll take the .5% chance of being bear poop over the 80% chance of breaking my neck.

I think the chance of becoming bear poop is way less than that. Like 001%.

With my luck one or more of the corner straps would pull out in a windstorm and I'd have to cut my way out of it.

Or I'd have to get up during the night to take a pizz and that wouldn't end well!

I'll take my chances on the ground with the bears.

Did a solo Archery Elk (other guys were coming up a few days late)....

Tagged a Cow on 2nd evening.

I never bring food or anything "stinky" into tent.

Burn garbage everyday and keep a clean camp.

Never had an issue with solo camping....it's actually quite peaceful and good for the soul to isolate yourself sometimes...

The real crappy part is retrieval of game especially after dark....it sucks not having a chainsawing/spotter in the dark....but got it done without incident.

Its people that scare me more than animals when I'm in the Bush. Bumped into some weirdos over the years and that alone as me more on edge when camping solo. Oh that and bigfoot, that guy really spooks me... heard he has a job roughnecking outside of Pouce Coupe nowadays though.

I have camped alone several times. Time moves unusually slowly in the woods, while alone. When you are not seeing animals, it gets old pretty quick.

I once had a vivid dream that a bear was pressing down with his paw, on my head, through the tent. Lol.

I am fairly introverted so it doesn't bother me to be alone for a few nights. I would imagine the more social or extroverted folks would have a hard time with the silence.

I was out in the bush by myself for about three weeks when a conservation officer stopped in and told me I had to put my fire out because fort Mac was burning down and all the extra personal were headed up to help put it out. I think I may have mooned Justin Trudeau flying by in a helicopter that trip as well

There might be an unintended sexual reference in the title.
