I hate when people are selling a car for example and say "Its better than new". How is it better than new when nothing has been done to it and its used? Drives me insane.

When you're in public and someone's kid is throwing a tantrum or in general just misbehaving and all they say is "Oh well, what can you do." or "Oh they're not THAT bad".
Makes me want to slap them upside the head.

Please tell me you are kidding. I dont think anything annoys me more than that word. A close second would be prolly instead of probably, and the phrase it is what it is.

Men who talk to each other should refer to the other as one of the following, depending on age, situation and time they've known each other:

Bud,Man,Sir,Friend and sometimes Dude.

If one of the men uses a term from the following list, the other must pick another term from this list in order to maintain balance.

Sport,Chief,Ace,Hombre,Lightning,Kid,Partner,Mate, Comrade,Amigo,Chum,Buck,Homie,Bro.

Ugh, cat is right......I hate that one too! From Websters:

Quote:
Usage Discussion of IRREGARDLESS
Irregardless originated in dialectal American speech in the early 20th century. Its fairly widespread use in speech called it to the attention of usage commentators as early as 1927. The most frequently repeated remark about it is that “there is no such word.” There is such a word, however. It is still used primarily in speech, although it can be found from time to time in edited prose. Its reputation has not risen over the years, and it is still a long way from general acceptance. Use regardless instead.
Examples of IRREGARDLESS
I told them that irregardless of what you read in books, they's some members of the theatrical profession that occasionally visits the place where they sleep. —Ring Lardner, The Big Town, 1921
Origin of IRREGARDLESS
probably blend of irrespective and regardless
First Known Use: circa 1912

"Awesome"

"challeged" as in "mentally challanged", "vertically challanged" to mean a short retard.

Notice that greylynx is being a good kitty by not mentioning any Newphonic terms.

Phrases:
"shoots lights out"
"drives tacks"

How many of the people using the phrases have actually done these things with the gun in question? Perhaps a few, but not very many.

Using "caliber" when referring to a specific cartridge.
Using " bullets" when referring to loaded cartridges.
Using "prolly" instead of probably.

Irregardless is my biggest one but two others are "unthaw" and a "mute" point.

Now I end every post with a statement that doth offend at least three of you. . .so perhaps I should pick another word. . .

How about the over use of the word Extreme. As in Extreme Pita or Extreme car wash, and if you are really awesome you drop the E. Xtreme.
Its extremely annoying.

Unthaw or de-thaw really gets to me, so does that mean that they are freezing it again?

Swear words are great for emphasis or for shock value. That's their purpose. What gets me is people who use them repeatedly and almost unconciously in their everday speech. "I was driving down the f'ing street when this f'ing truck passed me..."

I admit I was guilty of it for years. Once the kids came along though,I cut back and I save it for work or with the guys. The wife has had more slips than me in 4 years.(I've had 1)I don't even use it all that often anymore unless the situation calls for it.

"If I do my part" who's going to do it if I don't
"All day long" the only thing you can do all day long is BS about your firearm and shooting skills.

Borrow me a dollar.

Is that all you think about?

What is your problem?

Swear words are great for emphasis or for shock value. That's their purpose. What gets me is people who use them repeatedly and almost unconciously in their everday speech. "I was driving down the f'ing street when this f'ing truck passed me..."

Actually I agree with you. Exactly!!!!

I'll be honest with you. as opposed to how you usually are?

I gotta tell you... No. actually you don't.

Gay ....when you don't mean happy.
