....zing!!!
I have to agree with the others, I am backing this guy, and his suit, so I hope he gets his 6.5
In fact, i am a bit dissapointed that he is being modest, 8 figures would be where I would start.
For the record, I have no problems with police, as long as they know their limitations, and my rights, and are able to respect both.

They are big on how ignorance of the law is no excuse when writing tickets and arresting people, I believe what is sauce for the goose is sauce for the gander.

Dunno for sure, when I was a kid it was "good" not "sauce", but "sauce" sounds more archaic and makes me suspect that Oko is older than me! Ha

Tell you what I will agree with the stupidly high amount of money as long as you guys don't bitch the next time your taxes go up to cover these stupid costs.

i can't believe this guy is suing.
If he didn't want his door kicked in and his life turned upside down while he stood outside in his underwear, then Why would he have guns?
Guns bad.
If you aren't doing anything wrong then you have nothing to worry about.
And don't forget your facemask.

I wish that were true, but it isn't.
I would be all for it if whatever settlement came out of police funds but it doesn't. It comes out of General Revenue, OUR tax dollars.
What is really needed is some means of holding those in power to account, and not just with elections, real punitive action.
As it is now, the worst that Politicians, Police, and other public officials can expect, is to loose their job and be handed a even cushier job by their friends.
Remember that Sponsorship scandal ? The only people in that whole affair to pay for their actions were the whistle blowers.
I think most of us know what happened to the man behind that fiasco.
Last I heard he was one of the highest paid lawyers in Calgary. Some punishment that was.
And what about the one culprit convicted in the whole affair? Well he was sentenced to a job, teaching ethics at a prestigious collage down east.
Now that's what I call doing hard time. They probably paid him 6.5 mill a year for that job.

Jobs should be on the line, plus monetary compensation for an obvious smothering of his civil rights. We are a stone-throw away from being Nazi-Germany with attitudes like Cheif Blair's...

Pretty scary stuff. I hope he nails them, there is no excuse any more for this kind of stuff in Canada. Why wouldn't Toronto have checked the files to find out if the guy had firearms, and from what's released--a collector.
Feces on the walls-- maybe this was a group of health inspectors?
6.5 mil, maybe high, maybe not. Too much of this going around these days. There are plenty of legitimate problems to deal with for the enforcement personell.

The Lad in the Air Canada 7up case sued for 500,000 each for him and his wife..
