I'm going to be up in 357 looking for a meat bull here on Monday. Anyone know if they are having wolf problems around there.. I would love to get one in the back of the truck while we are there

98% of 357 is private land. I don't see much for moose once the snow comes. Best bet is the hudderites around bear lake. And no... Not many wolves in 357

A real monster I know! Sure is tasty though. After spending a ton of time chasing moose with my bow I decided I would shoot the first bull I saw in rifle season. This was the unlucky one.

I had spotted a bigger one and snuck out to where I figured he should be. I had nearly given up when 3 bulls ran out of a bush about forty yards from me. A quick mouth call and two of them stopped broadside at a 100 yards. I picked the bigger one believe it or not. The big boy gave me the slip somewhere along the way.

I shot him with the lowly .270win and he took three steps and flopped over. 130 grain interbond.

I wasn't fortunate enough to get a draw for moose this year but I did guide and here's the one my client shot.

2nd rifle Wainwright, father/son bull.
Not that big but he's got an old bullet hole in his left paddle.

Like Kurt, the only moose I was in on this season was guiding. Not the 60" I was hoping for but hunter had knee surgery 2 weeks before the hunt.

^^^ Good for him. That's a pretty tough go after knee surgery. Been there.

Nope, second biggest. Seen the big guy early on just before archery, then again about three days after we got this one. Saw lots in the 38"-44" range though.

Default 2015 Moose

This thread caused me a few sleepless nights until it was finally my turn to go on my first moose hunt last Fall....

After walking many miles,Dad and I finally had him surrounded in a big island of Tree's.as luck would have it After the thunder stopped roaring from inside the bush the bull busted out only 100 yards from me and I carefully slide a 150 grain Nosler ballistic tip through both of his lungs as he was running away broadside from my position.as it turned out only one bullet was needed because he made it only 100 more yards before he came to his final resting place.

I thank everyone who contributed to this thread and contributed to my excitement leading up to this hunt.
