Default 2010 buck

Held out in my tree stand in minus 20 until I could'nt any longer, luckily 5 minutes before that point arrived, this nice buck fed through. Typical 6x6 frame with a busted G5. Just shy of 20" inside.

Nice buck! Congrats.

How long were you able to sit? I could only last about 3 hours before my core started to get cold this past weekend.

Yeah, I was about the same. In my stand about 07:20 and shaking by 10:30. Heated socks were no contest. Climbing stands are a great tool, but real tough to warm up in! Almost half stroked my bow, muscle tissue was getting cool.

I find any metal stands are bad for stealing the warmth from you, even holding your bow sucks the heat out of my hand ... and I had big mitts on.

I release froze at one point.

Depending on what you have for a seat & floor (if you have a floor) Use a thick piece of shag carpet to sit or stand on. When your stand is not in use, roll up the carpet till next time.

Nice buck.

Congrats on a fine whitetail FCE.
Thanks for sharing your buck with us. I was starting to wonder if you were still kicking around AO or not.

Great buck FCE. Congrats man.

I was on stand Wednesday when it was -28. At the 2.5 hour mark the wind kicked up and forced me into the ground blind for the rest of the day. At one point, I bumped my runny nose against the top cam and instantly froze to it! The worst part however, was watching four different shooter bucks (one GOOD one) casually stroll one by one over the course of an hour, DIRECTLY under the treestand 150 yards away........

Good on ya for gutting it out, and being justly rewarded!
