early morning or later afternoon / evening, but if you don't mind walking cutlines and trails you should be able to pop them all day

ruffie hunting is so fun......i've got a quad trip planned this afternoon with my wife and my buddy and his wife. our target - ruffies!!! gonna be fun.

Was up in 349 the last two weekends put on about 350km of driving roads and a few hours of walking some cutlines. Was mostly up the virginia hills road. Have yet to see any sign of grouse, lots of whitetail though. Any one have any advise as to whether or not I'm looking in a reasonable area? First season in alberta. Thanks

I really enjoy "walking" for grouse. Never thought much about "quading" for grouse.

Just remember...no such thing as ring neck grouse. Make sure it Is a grouse and some jogger in a crew neck..... and you cant snare em.

oh yeah and remember its free ! http://www.literacyalberta.ca/ you CAN learn to read.
or if you are really stuck..the fish cops arent all that bad; oh wait there's no available number on line..got to love the system...good luck and happy um, hunting.

lol happy season.

I plan on taking my eight year old daughter on her first hunt very soon, and it will be for Ruffed Grouse, or whatever other grouse we run into. She's so excited as am I.
