Willmore Wilderness trail condition - good for bikes?
Say if a guy wanted to get in fairly deep into the Willmore but didn't have access to horses, would a mountain bike or fat bike be a suitable option with current trail conditions? Or would it end up being more work lugging around a bike with him? Appreciate the input.

Willmore getting upto 100mm rain in next three days. Works out to around 4 inches of rain, going to be lots of washed out areas, good mud in low country, creeks/rivers very high.

When wet the trail from Rock Lake to the first river crossing can be biked. The last few km to the river the trail splits, take the high route or you will be swimming.
Trying to cross the wildhay with all the rain right now would be ill advised.
The trail from the river to eagles nest can be a really muddy ride, if you hike and get off the trail its a decent and scenic walk.
Wait for the weather to turn, the ground to dry up, and the river to recede a bit.
But yes you can bike to eagles nest and further.

Has anyone been out last weekend? Or if you go out this weekend can you give me an update on how the wildhay river looks? I'm heading out next weekend.

I just pulled this off of https://rivers.alberta.ca/
This station is about 35kms from the crossing, I would say do not try to cross at all.

Rule of thumb. It rains there in July. Low country is muddy as a rule.

Thanks for the input everyone. I guess I could have clarified more, I’m looking at making a trip in late August or early September.
