Default Kinbasket Lake water levels

Heading out to Kinbasket on Aug long weekend and wondering if anyone has any updates on the water level out there? We are hoping to do some boat camping if the weather cooperates and yes I have done my research and know that there can be crazy winds.

Was there just the Other weekend , water levels are very low. Like an extra 150
To 200 ft of shore line in some places.

Thanks for the reply, I've only been there with higher water. How was the fishing? Feel free to PM me if you have any pointers.

Fishing wasn’t so hot , tried an assortment of trolling , casting, had a little bit of luck with some small marshmallows. Fishing was sow But honestly the scenery was amazing with the water being so low. Lots of cool stuff to check out along the way. Also there was a few waterfalls that you can boat right up to.

Sorry to hijack a bit. What is best place to launch (marina ?). Also aside from the wind picking up, is this a lake that can be boated safely with average 18ft I/O boat closed front not bow rider. I have many years boating on Erie with this boat where I grew up and take many trips to Shuswap every summer. I have driven to the lake a couple of times but never pulling boat. Thank you

Yes the Marina is a good place to launch , it’s like 2 bucks to launch or something cheap like that. Or if your staying in any of the campgrounds they all have free access to the lake , gravel ramps.

Just keep in mind that kinbasket has 1000s of floating dead heads and even more small chunks of branches and sticks floating. Usually the Fiberglass boats from what I have seen don’t plane out on the water , they just put around slowly at maybe 10 mph. I got with a aluminum jet boat that has a steel bottom , I’m not scared to punch it across the lake but i can definitely hear and feel drift wood banging off the hall
