Default Seller Remorse.....

I know it happens to most folks. Lets here what are some of the guns you wish your never should have sold. (Ive been slowly trying to replace a few i should have never sold but was such a bought it shot it sold it kind of person.

1. Semi custom 458 win mag, on a rem 700 action, king barrel, LSS peppered grey/black laminate stock. This is my greatest regret selling

2. Savage 210F bolt action 12 ga slug gun with 26 inch barrel. Topped with a Leupold Grand Slam and S.A.B.R. reticle. I was able to burst open milk jugs of water at 250 yards. It was ridiculous accurate but required to be cleaned of plastic foul every 4 shots

I do not dwell much on the thousands of guns I have sold over the years- one however that I do wonder about is a FAIR Safari500 express 6.5x55 O/U with a set of 20 gauge barrels.
It will never come back to me.

Marlin 39a, with pistol grip. Bought it new in early 2000s. Takedown model. Shots lots of gophers with it. It was really accurate and then it wasn't as much. I was young and didn't understand cleaning a rimfire or checking for loose stuff. Probably needed a good cleaning. I have a hard time selling rifles after that.

I will always regret selling my pristine Marlin brothers: 1974 Texan and 1975 SC models. Also I greatly regret selling my stainless lefty Ruger Hawkeye Alaskan in 375 Ruger.
Don’t miss any of the others that have gone down the road.

Sphinx AT2000S, Swiss made, milled out of one block of stainless. Incredibly well made. In fairness, it was sold to buy something even more rare and beautiful, but of all the guns I've bought and sold, this tops my regret list. It's a long list though.

Default Rare model

[QUOTE=brewster29;4723129 Also I greatly regret selling my stainless lefty Ruger Hawkeye Alaskan in 375 Ruger.

Not sure if what I read on another forum is accurate but it was stated that Ruger only manufactured 100 of those rifles. Pretty much irreplaceable nowadays.

I know they did not list the Alaskan in left hand on their website. Apparently they just sent out the 100 rifles to select dealers.

Had a Jungle Carbine lee enfield No5 I always regretted selling and a Rossi Mares leg with a full stock in 44 mag I wish I hadn’t sold.

Also had. Lee enfield No1 mk3 I should have kept. I had the barrel shortened and a Monte Carlo rear stock. I whacked a lot of deer with that baby and miss it still.

I think about selling things. Even put things up for sale. But don't sell anything.

My issue is buying things. I get excited easily.

A few guns I kind of probably should not have sold are
Three screw rugers. One in 357 another in 44.
1875 Remington 44/40
250 /3000 Savage 99
WW1 colt 1911. Was stamped united states army but someone nickel plated it which I didn't like but never had opportunity to buy another.

Ive enjoyed and traded a lot of guns over the years. Trading, buying, selling used to be a lot of fun.
A better question would be what are the regrets about the guns I could have but did not buy over the years. The ones I passed on.

Husqvarna Crown Grade in .270, high gloss, steel sights, rose wood.

Buddy bugged/begged me to sell it to him. Years later I relented but I got first right of refusal should he want to sell; he agreed.

Buddy ended up with cancer and quickly died. His widow immediately sold their Water Valley property, got rid of all his stuff, this minty rifle included.....

The rifle was NEVER to be seen again.

Maybe, could be a couple I should have kept for the actions, so that I could build something else on them somewhat cheaper than what it'll cost me these days, but, I did it, so, use something else that I already have, if I decide that I need to. If I sold something, it was usually because I really had no further use for it

Sold lots, never regretted any of them. If I had ever wanted one specific gun again, there were always ones available for purchase. Price might be higher but they are available. I honestly don't recall ever intentionally buying back a specifc gun, outside of I have owned more than one of the same model of many rifles in different calibres.

The hard part is why .
Right now I am getting older , and will not have that many hunting years ahead of me . If I pass away with a hart attack or something else , like so many of my friends have .Then my wife has to figure it out ,or just give them to the police for disposal.. Hopefully whats left she will pass on to Wards auction ,like so many have done .
These are the times we wish we had kids to pass them to .
My BBR 338 is on the chopping block now .
