Default 2 in custody, think they will walk?

Loon Lake RCMP: Assault on police officer and weapon/firearm seizure
2020-01-20
On January 18, 2020, Loon Lake RCMP received a report from the Pierceland Detachment area of a suspicious male in a farm yard driving a grey SUV.
An officer from the Loon Lake Detachment located a vehicle that matched the description of the SUV on Highway 26, north of Loon Lake. The officer attempted to stop the SUV, but it accelerated away in response. The vehicle and the male were seen at a gas station in Makwa a short while later. The officer pulled in behind and arrested the male driver from the SUV.
While escorting the handcuffed male to the police truck, the officer was struck from behind by a female passenger. The officer took the male to the ground to keep control of him. Meanwhile, the female ran back to the grey SUV and armed herself with a machete. The female entered the driver’s side of the SUV and accelerated at the officer who was still on the ground. The officer was able to move himself and the male to safety. The female then tried to turn around and accelerate at the officer again before losing control of the vehicle and colliding with the side of the gas station, causing significant damage.
Officers from the Prince Albert Crime Reduction Team, nearby detachments and EMS attended the scene to assist.
The officer was able to arrest both individuals without injury. The officer did not sustain injury as a result of this incident as well.
A subsequent search of the SUV resulted in the seizure of bolt cutters, multiple knives, a machete, six rifles, three semi-automatic handguns with five loaded magazines, bags of ammunition, a revolver, a black ski mask and leather gloves.
The male and female have been identified as Stephane Joseph Leclerc (DOB: 1969-06-06) and Jolene Nicole Sinclair (DOB: 1984-09-23). Both have been charged with multiple offenses and will be remanded to appear in court in Meadow Lake on January 20, 2020.
A photo of the seized items and the SUV are attached.

They should both have been ventilated when she drove the car at the officer. Half a magazine into her and then a few into him due to him attacking for shooting her. There is no other solution for those types, at their ages, crime and drugs are their only paths going forward. She's 35 and he's 50, both are lifetime losers.

The officer should have shot her dead, as she attempted to murder him with the vehicle. Now the taxpayers get to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to deal with them and both will likely reoffend shortly after being released.

Wow, you guys are so hard, what a bunch of knuckle draggers. Obviously these two were victims of the police. Trying to run him over is a classic cry for help. They probably come from a really unfortunate background, you need to consider that sort of thing. Really what is needed here is a hug all around, and some constructive time in a healing lodge getting better. Maybe a large cash payout because they were triggered by somebody they knew spending time in a residential school is in order too. There are just way too many variables at play here, other than the obvious fault of the police officer putting handcuffs on a victim. Jesus, it's time to get empathy people!

This will be their tale of woe. Our police force needs to become more Americanized, two dead suspects would guarantee a police investigation and the officer would be found to have acted in self defence.

Little cost to the taxpayers.

Wastes of oxygen people like these. At least they are caught. I can't imagine with there actions they will be left to go on bail but my faith in the system is pretty low. Hopefully they get what they deserve in some form or another.

I have to agree 100% with Bigwoodsman. Simple, effective and relatively cheap. At their ages I can't see anything changing in the future for these 2.

At some point a Justice is going to have to make a point with criminals, maybe this is the one? I bet they tie these two into other criminal events. Years is what I want to read. Many years.

Odds are they both already have extensive criminal records and have done jail time. If we had a justice system they would still be in jail and this would never have happened.

Yeah, sorry about that. I actually texted Ken earlier and said that this is why police vehicles need a trailer hitch. So they can tow a 20 hp wood chipper behind, and throw these recidivism creeps right in....but maybe that is harsh.

Assaulting police officer? I would be inclined to think she will be remanded until the court date. Boyfriend would be anyone's guess? Glad to hear the officer was not injured or had to kill anyone.
