270/300 win mag
Was looking for some loading data in my loading book and came across some info I had for 270 based on the 300 win mag. 130 Hornady with imr-7828 was doing 3500fps . With the newer monolithic bullets it maybe worth revisiting .

I think with a higher BC bullet (Noslers new 165 ABLR) it could be sweet, especially with a higher twist rate.

Would that be similar to a 7mm Mashburn or 7mm Practical?

You should get really radical, and make a .264/300 win mag rifle. Buddy of mine in BC has one.

This is what I would do with a 1-7 twist.
