Got a 2012 for work last year. It has get up and go that's for sure and the stereo is pretty good for a stick unit but the gas mileage sucks!!! I've never gotten better than 13mpg. I do about 3000miles a month and have to keep records for work including calculating mileage at the end if month not at each tank. Other than that my opinion I wouldn't spend my $$ on one. But we all have our likes/dislikes. Anyways mileage really kills it for me. Good luck

I have a '12 Outdoorsman. I was also looking at the Big Horn at the time of purchase. I went with the Outdoorsman because it had the 17 inch rims, and off road/winter rated tires, which raised the towing capacity by 2000 lbs and increased payload. Considering I tow a trailer, this was a big reason for my purchase. The Big Horn is a nice looking truck. Just to much chrome and flash for my tastes.

As for mileage, I just returned from a 1700 km trip to BC and back and I got 13.7 L/100km hand calculated. The thing with the Hemi is that if you drive aggressively (hard on the gas, 110kph+) you will get terrible mileage. If you drive it a little bit conservative, the mileage is decent for a full size pick up. The '13 will probably get better mileage with the 8 speed tranny

new interiors are pretty sweet too.

I know the tanks on the chevy trucks used to be 94l and the dodges were quite a bit bigger.

Can't you get a bigger tank as an option? Mine is 127L or something like that

Default Dodge 1500

I had a post a couple of weeks ago asking for opinions on the Dodge and Ford, and got some good feedback. I looked at a lot of trucks and bought a Ford last week. The price between the Dodge Longhorn and Ford Lariat with eco boost were within a couple of hundred bucks of each other. The Dodge has a drop dead gorgeous interior, but the cargo weight is pretty low, so I went with Ford. If you PM me, I will tell you what prices I was quoted, and which sales persons I deal with. The sales folks give referral money to those who send customers their way, and anything I receive along those lines will be given back to you. Good luck in your search, some car salesmen can certainly put the ass in assistance.

i have a 13 sport with the 6 speed. i am averaging 12.7 ltr/100 driving at 110 on highway. the only difference in the 8 speed trans is 1st and second gear are a low range gears, 7th and 8th gear is the same ratio as 5th and 6th gear in the 6 speed. guy's are only seeing a 1 to 2 mpg gain with the 8 speed. with the 8 spd you get the active grille shutters that open and close to improve aerodynamics.

I'd wait for the diesel...

I really think the diesel ram with air suspension will be a huge seller.

I have a '12 Sport and like it, but knowing what I know now, I would have waited for the 13's.

Air ride + 8 speed + 8.4 Uconnect + keyless ignition would have been nice.. Oh, and for 13 they did away with the stupid plastic-chrome clad wheels too.
