If that creek borders your land YOU have first dibs at trapping or shooting them. IF the creek is on public land YOU will need a licence to shoot or trap on said land . The owner of any land that has running water going through it has rights to trap to the center of that running water. Although IF the other side of the bank is someone else property , YOU would need a form saying you have permission to trap on that side . This ONLY applies to trapping ! Anyone else may sled and walk up and down that running water at any time WITHOUT the permission of anyone on either side .
At the price of Beaver pelts right now , it would take a while to recover your costs of a trappers course . BTW the form you need is obtained at any F&W office in Alberta .
