Default Anyone ever hunt Coues Deer?

We're planning a DIY Arizona Coues Deer hunt for 2019.

Anyone on here experienced at Coues deer hunting?

John

I have heard it's an excellent hunt, If you can afford it go for it, not sure about your area, I've seen New Mexico hunts, but I'm sure Arizona is good too, I guess they are a tough to get, but they are becoming a sought after trophy

We've been told to look into units 34, 35. But we'll also be looking into a DIY style hunt, but on a ranch in Mexico. Jay Scott has access to a couple of ranches and does guided hunts but also offers the DIY style.

If you have a contact, they should be able to steer you in the right direction, that could save you a lot of leg work. I know guys that phone outfitters to get help sometimes, they usually are pretty good about it believe it or not. You might be in for a heck of a good hunt. It will be fun either way. International hunts are a blast, would AZ fish and wildlife be any help if you contacted them?

Take some good optics and good footwear. Very dry terrain and almost everything pokes, stings or bites you there. Lots of time spent sitting classing looking for them. Be sure too have a javelina tag also it's a great way too break up the day and spot and stalk them. Good luck enjoy

Make sure you read the chapter on Coues deer in JOC's "hunting in the desert" book.
