How are you guys losing to the Canucks??? I guess I should turn the game on.

4 Minor hockey Games (Well, 3 and 1/2 read the Minor hockey thread)
2 Flames games and now I have to go watch the Oilers game... Hmmm Going into hockey overload I am afraid.

Canucks are a better team than the standings show but Oilers should have looked better with Van playing back to back. Not much ice for McDavid except for the last 5 mins or so.
Canucks will take the season series this year.

That was a classic example of how taking too many bad penalties and hoping for a mediocre PK to bail you out by playing above their weight class, can really bite you in the nads…

Well done today Jets.

Well done today Flames.

My Oilers, not so much!

In his post game interview Hitch insisted that the PK wasn't the reason the Oil lost tonight. I don't pretend to be a good armchair coach, but if all three goals that mattered were scored during our PK, wouldn't the special teams' inability to defend three of five penalties have at least some bearing on the outcome?

Koskinen been great but 2 of the 3 PP goals were shots from 15-20 feet out. Boeser sneaked under his arm and Petterson's was a laser to the top corner.... those were on Koskinen.

Both of them are deadly shooters....amazing shots they have. I don't know if I put those on Koskinen. You just can't give them those opportunities at all, or they make you pay. Canucks are going to get some great production out of that pair for years to come.

I don’t know man, those are some snipers!! Tough to blame koskinen on those. Oh well, you can’t win them all. We got the blues, let’s go!!!

Snipers or not, trickling through the arm and chest protector and then a delayed shot where the goalie is set, from 20 feet out without a screen need to be stopped. Ask Koskinen if he thinks he should have had those.

Here ya go.......Where do you think that the Oilers would be in the standings if Hitch had them from pre-season until now? I wonder......

Mark Spector in the media says this blip in performance after a new coach usually runs its course after 10 games. I guess we'll see.

Edmonton is going to win today. That is a given. The only thing left to chance is how high they will run up the score.

I am sooooooo tired of Mark Spector and his schtick. Oh how I wish Sportsnet would ditch him and move on.

I can write his columns for him at this point and be pretty much word for word. No real insight, always negative, always picking on somebody or something (and usually the same 3 or 4 guys), and then a line or two at the end about something positive as though that makes it all OK. Same old, same old, every time.

I don't want a guy that's just a cheerleader either (Principe), but the guy's a black cloud. If I were a player (or anyone for that matter) in the Oilers' organization, I wouldn't give that guy the time of day.

P.S. I think Spector might post on AO as 1899b.
